Ross Dixon

Ross Dickson, APA Committee Member and Youth Representative

Ross Dickson the local rep for the youth group called arty and the Artarmon progress association.
Ross has lived in Artarmon all his life and owns a fantastic bouqtic salon in Artarmon called h.o.w on Elizabeth St Artarmon

Ross loves helping the youth of Artarmon and began joining with the Artarmon progress association 4 years ago.

Ross started off with the Artarmon star search in witch was a great hit with all Artarmon youth, Ross also has done a number of smaller events like Artarmon's Youth Garden, Arty's Partys and assisting with kids activities with the progress association and Halloween events. Ross is working on the Halloween event in its 3rd year running right now. But as Ross says he couldn't do this with out the great help of the fantastic committee and the progress association and friends.

The Artarmon Progress Association has a sub committee that focuses on the interests and well-being of young people in Artarmon. They organise activities for the young and young at heart people such as Artarmon Star Search.

Their 2008 projects are the construction of the Artarmon Youth Garden on the corner of Elizabeth St and Tindale Rd (opposite Wilkes Ave Shops), a night at the Chelsea on 27th September and Artarmon Star Search.

In the first half of the year Artarmon Star Search is held which is a talent competition and show for the youth of Artarmon. The winner is announced at the Artarmon Fair (if held) in early May. It 2009 it will be at Norths Club.
